Task: Community Outreach Volunteer for the Senior LinkAge Line, to help Medicare Beneficiaries understand the new prescription drug benefit coming in 2006.

Task Details: Answer questions about the new Medicare Part D drug benefit; distribute materials, provide educational presentations to groups or one on one assistance to individuals over the phone or in person. Detailed training provided.
Frequency:
Flexible schedule; minimum monthly.
Length:
Summer/Fall 2005 to May 15, 2006 will be the intense time. Presentatyions are usually about 1 hour; individual calls or contacts could vary.

Training:
Volunteers receive training by the professional staff at the Area Agewncy on Aging. Volunteers may choose take the Medicare Core Body of Knowledge training to become a certified SHIP (State Health Insurance Program)volunteer.Regular in-service training provided.
Expenses:
Mileage may be paid to/from the assigned site.
Background
check: Cannot be an active insurance agent due to conflict of interest.
