Volunteer Task: Called to be Friends Program

Volunteer Task Details: Called to be Friends is a program that allows volunteers to help people with needs that are often outside their physical capabilities because of illness, age, disability or life circumstance. Volunteers commit to sharing a variety of activites with their friends on a weekly basis. Activities may include good conversation, playing cards, letter writing, reading, crafts, shopping or helping with errands.

Length: One to two hours per week

Expenses: Mileage reimbursement

Background check: Basic background check through the Department of Human Services.

Committment: An average of 4-5 hours per month for duration of friendship.

References: One personal reference is requested.
